To See Or Not To See Star Wars 3D – That Is The Question?

star-wars complete saga blu-ray

Star Wars : Phantom Menace 3D is coming out in the cinema on February.

It begs the question that every Star Wars fan must answer – to see or not?

The CGI tweaking of the original movies casts a divide between the fans like the Republic and the Seperatists. Also, the insinuation by Lucas that the originals will never see the light of day again is disturbing, although probably something of a bluff from the serial tinkerer.

Phantom Menace was never the strongest story in the series about Anakin Skywalker.

In fact, in terms of a film about his life, its pretty redundant; covering the portion when he is an 8 year old boy.

So to try and weigh up whether to go, I need to decide which camp I fall into : Die hard Original Seperatist or CGI Republican.

Everything considered, I think I sit somewhere in the middle.

I’m not that bothered by the fact he keeps changing them, it would be nice to have a choice of the original untouched films on Blu Ray though.

So, Phantom Menace 3D at the flicks? It’ll be a no from me, I like Phantom Menace as little as I like 3D.

Lucas did drop the broadside that if Phantom Menace 3d bombs then its tata to the other 3d films (including the originals) being made.

One suspects though, he will still hammer them out in 3D even if his taking at the box office are down to say, a few $100 mil.
