An 11-year-old girl died after suffering an electric shock inside her home, in the city of Juazeiro, in the north of Bahia. The incident was recorded on Sunday (20), in the Palmares 1 neighborhood.
Initial information indicates that Lara Beatriz dos Santos Pimenta touched an extension cord when she went to turn on the fan at home. The girl was shocked and died at the scene – an ambulance from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (Samu) was called, but there was nothing to be done.
Juazeiro City Hall released a statement lamenting Lara’s death. The girl was a student at the Guiomar Lustosa Rodrigues Municipal School, informed the Department of Education and Youth (Seduc). “In this moment of sadness and pain, Seduc and the entire school team express their regret and solidarity with the family, friends and classmates”, says the text.
The case was registered at the city police station.
